Drew Goss
Drew Goss, Treasurer
Drew and Monica Goss began their passion towards helping the community many years ago. Drew, in 1984 by volunteering as an EMT for an ambulance service in Darien, Connecticut. He later joined the Noroton Volunteer Fire Department, also in Darien, where he still holds honorary membership. Monica, after life altering circumstances in 2002, began volunteering her time as a Team Coordinator for the Pancreatic Action Network (PanCAN) to help in the raising of funds for this horrible disease.
In 1994, Drew and Monica met while living in Chicago and began their life-long journey together in 1998. They have two children, a daughter Morgan who is now 9 and a son, Tristen who is now 6.
Shortly after their daughter was born, Morgan was diagnosed with Kawasaki Disease, and although not very well known, it is the leading cause of acquired heart disease in children. Monica and Drew were blessed to have caught and treated Morgan’s disease during a critical phase following onset and she is now leading a happy and healthy life.
It was after learning more about Kawasaki Disease that Drew and Monica wanted to get involved and raise funds and just as important, awareness for KD. In 2002 they started the Kawasaki Disease Fund, with the primary benefactor being Children’s Memorial Hospital of Chicago. The Fund is still very active today in searching for the cause of KD, and their efforts to educate and fund research continues to this day.
In February of 2007, the Goss Family relocated to Sanford, Florida. Drew and Monica began looking for the next cause where they could make a difference. Being lovers of German Shepherds and never forgetting their roots for community service, they looked into the K9 Division of the Seminole County Sheriff Department. In 2009 they donated a police trained K-9 to the department and are forever grateful to the men and women that put their lives on the line for us everyday.
Drew and Monica are forever grateful to their friends and family for the love and support they have received throughout the years.
