What is Kawasaki Disease

Kawasaki Disease also known as Kawasaki Syndrome is the number one cause of acquired heart disease in children developed nations.
It is not a rare illness, with about 5,000 reported cases per year in the United States and over 15,000 per year in Japan.
There is no diagnostic test available currently; diagnosis is based on the presence of fever with four of five other symptoms in classic cases. Diagnosis in incomplete cases can be more difficult.
